Facebook integration

  • Hoping the intergration is deep and not a simple widget. Adding concert events into facebook events would be nice as well...

Well, people can already do that pretty easily. I've made a couple concert event listings.

  • hey hey - I've written a quick Facebook Weekly Charts widget:

    http://www.facebook.com/apps/application.php?id=2347710348

As far as I know it's the only one to offer working links for artists - both to other fans on Facebook, and info on Last.fm

Re-configure your application. the app has changed. Now uses the flash widget via an image redirect. Works very well.

Honestly, it's irritating because a lot of the user-submitted apps are called "Last.fm". Makes people think they're official when they certainly aren't.

Kind of a clusterfxxk, and even though it's not last.fm's fault they're really losing ground by not pushing something out the door fast. If it's an official app people will stick around even if it doesn't work perfectly at first. Hell, that's the story of Audioscrobbler's life - AS/last.fm didn't even work reliably until at least 2003.

  • iLike are at over 200,000 users. They have effectively doubled their audience in half a week because of this.

Im interested in what direction Last FM take. Concert listings/events etc on Facebook would mean that I am less likely to come to the main Last FM site to see those events. ALL my friends are on Facebook, yet only a few are on Last FM. On the other hand, Last FM has the potential to massively increase their audience with a well integrated, deep experience.

Event integration between last.fm and Facebook would probably be the killer app of all time, at least for me personally.

  • yeah, its pretty sad that iLike is totally dominating because they came out first... but im sure you guys at last.fm are working haaard on it!! i cant wait for it! meanwhile, i dont know if any of those links above lead to this widget, but this one works and its really good:

Yeah, I'm using the one TuttaviaCorrere posted too, and I really like it. Definitely suitable at least in the interim.

This one is awesome. Fits right into Facebook, no problems, and very unintrusive. I like how it asks you if you want to allow it to link back to the application :)

  • Thanks

Thanks TuttaviaCorrere that one is the exact thing I wanted integrated into Facebook.

It would be really nice if they could get it so the album covers show up in a block next to the songs like they do on users' profiles.

Thanks for the interest guys -- we're doing our best and will have something pretty cool for you soon.

Then we'll be relying on you all to spread the word. May the best music revolution win! ;)

  • I started using the iLike app -- it's crap!! I can't wait to see what Last.fm has to offer.

I took my app down so I can focus on developing other ones. The other guy's works fine now. He implemented my style into his application and has everything working now.

If anyone has problems with the revised las.fm app linked here, i did as well.

If you installed it before last night i'd suggest removing it and re-adding it. Me and a handful of friends experienced it disappearing once it was updated to include the dynamic text based version.

So remove, re-add and enjoy. looks wicked on my profile.

How do I remove it? I don't see an option, or see it appearing in my apps...

  • Yeah I don't mean to get on the back of the staff but iLike has grown to 416,330 users using it on facebook in under a week. And I can bet that a LOT of those are new users. I know Last.fm were told late about it but it seems that each passing day that goes by that there isn't an app, Last.fm is losing a lot of potential users.

You shouldn't need to remove it, just click on the 'Rock On' again in the options to update the bits and bobs and it should be fine.

  • strange enough jarvo i tried that first with no luck. I only suggested removal and re-add because it worked for me. It would be a good idea for anyone to try what you said first. See what worked for them.

Either way, the integration is great, with the simplicity one expects from last.fm ... soon enough with all these great homegrown apps we'll have no use for first party stuff. lol
