Does last.fm really support SOPA or PIPA?

  • There is zero music activity on your four day old account. Are you posting on an alt? As for verifying this is in fact the case:

"CBS Corporation is among the media and entertainment companies that support the legislation." - Source: cbsnews.com.

"Last.fm acquired by CBS" - Source: Last.fm blog.

"CBS Interactive Music Group" - Source: Footer on every page on the Last.fm website.

  • Hmm... not sure what's going on here, but the four day old roth2006 account with zero listens is inserting the following line into each of their forum posts:

    [ img]http://www.last.fm/out?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.herfree.com%2Favatar.php[/img ]

Presumably the img tag is forcing that PHP script to load on their server every time anybody reads a post of theirs. Are they trying to track forum users? Or maybe trying to spam but the image generator which produces their ad failed? Who knows? But a quick Google reveals they are doing it on more than this forum.

A moderator may wish to look into that.

  • Not renewing

    Hi,
Reasons why I am not renewing:
    1. Last.fm's support of SOPA and PIPA.
    2. I can't play Last.fm content on my Apple TV 2 from Spain.
    3. Other services of the similar kind offer better options.

I only lasted for a month here. Oh, well...

I think CBS fired all the moderators

    ...along with all the developers.
