Opera Browser issues

  • Opera Browser issues

For some reason when I listen to music on Last.fm in the Opera browser, the music self advances, a few seconds in, to the next song. Would be nice to listen to the whole song.

I have switched over to Pandora until this issue gets resolved

May also have been reported for chrome - possibly similar issue for the client.

Did I hear that right? Mondegreens - for the misheard word.

  • This happens to me to but only if I touch the skip button, it will always auto-skip a few seconds into the next song.

Have not tested today but should as Flash has an update and I wanna see if that made any improvement.

Opera 11.50 (beta) version 11.40 on XP SP3 with Flash Player 10.3.181.26

I can't be held responsable for whatever i say

    Firefox and IE also affected

I am using 3.6.16 FFox, and also tested with IE7 with Flash 10,2,159,1. It started to happen since a few weeks ago (few seconds are played and skipped to the next sound, while in other cases it plays the whole song w/o any issue). As you can imagine, it drives me crazy and I am getting _really_ frustrated; I doubt this is really browser specific issue.

PS: At the same time, from home, it works perfectly with Chrome; I also did not notice this on my phone happening.

The same is happening to me...songs skipping after a few seconds. I use this when working out, so it's very irritating to have a good song start and then skip after a few seconds. I mostly use Opera 11.11, but I think that it's also happened when using IE8. I'm generally anti-Pandora, but I may be jumping ship if Last doesn't fix this soon.

  • @caddiee - Try upgrading your browsers, or listening via the client.

@Anyone else with Opera issues, we've flagged these and they're being looked at. Should be sorted out fairly soon.

    not working buttons

I was using Opera 10 and everything was fine, until suddenly most buttons on last.fm stoped working, so I updated to Opera 11.51 but that did not solve my problem. I can't for examle change page theme to black or browse through my library (because arrow buttons don't work). I keep my java updated. Maybe you can give me some advice or help with this subject. I am addicted to last.fm and need my fix ;)

Make sure javascript is enabled. In Opera, go to Settings > Preferences > Content > check Enable Javascript.

    :)

Box was checked, java is enabled.

    It's javascript, java is different.

You can try this to make sure that javascript is not disabled for the site - in this window, right-click your mouse button while the cursor is in a blank part of the page. Select "Edit site preferences...", click "Scripting", then make sure the top button is checked (if it's not checked, the rest of the widow will be greyed out.)

However, I tried turning off javascript and the library buttons do work, so I suspect it wouldn't be a javascript problem. Perhaps you have a mis-loaded file cached.

Close all the tabs to get to the speed dial, then go to Settings > Preferences > Advanced > History > Empty Now (beside disk cache)

    Open last.fm and try again.

Note: the site does work in Opera 11.51 - that's what I am using. (And have been for some time.)

Clearing cached files solved problem. Now it's working fine, like before.

    Thank you very much :)
