Questionable presence

http://www.last.fm/music/Various+Artists/Unquestionable+Presence

like a few of the commenters over there, i've got a bunch of scrobbles for this album, instead of the one under Atheist, even tho' my tags are perfectly fine

what up with that?

When Lastfm has an album uploaded in its database, the songs you scrobble that are on that album are automatically associated with it, overwriting your own album tags (even if you have all autocorrections turned off)

This can mean your album are divided between alternate spellings of an album, or in some cases attributed to a various artists compilation

There's nothing you can really do about this

there's nothing i can do about it, but i imagine there's something a last.fm mod could do about an obvious case such as this one

Unforunately not, we don't do album corrections the same way we do artist of track corrections, meaning we can't currently fix this problem. When we do get around to the larger improvement of adding release groups, this issue will be resolved. Not to mention it's a step in the right direction toward artist disambiguation.

any kind of guesstimate on a timeline for that?

on a related note, there is a long standing artist problem with !t.o.o.h.! / tooh: http://www.last.fm/music/+noredirect/TOOH
could you do something about that?
of course that also extends to an album/track problem as well (album "order and punishment" is just a translation of "Řád a Trest", which is the correct album name; and most of the tracks have duplicates with any accents removed)
