Incorrect metadata: "Nothing to hide" is not by Jan Johansson

  • Incorrect metadata: "Nothing to hide" is not by Jan Johansson

The album "Nothing to hide" by the "LENNI-KALLE TAIPALE TRIO" is incorrectly connected to the artist Jan Johansson

Multiple users have pointed out this problem in the shouts on this album page:

    http://www.last.fm/music/Jan+Johansson/LENNI-KALLE+TAIPALE+TRIO%3A+Nothing+to+Hide

Please correct this error, it's been known for over a year now.

Also, wouldn't it be nice if there were an "incorrect metadata" report button that triggers a review process if, say, ten unrelated users click it?

It is there as well. The link you provide is for the album "LENNI-KALLE TAIPALE TRIO: Nothing to Hide" by Jan Johansson.
It was uploaded (judging by the streamable tracks) that way by the label Naxos. The error is on their part, and they are they ones who can and should correct it.

Remember to say "thank you" for the things you haven't had
  • But how are they to know? Here, an "incorrect metadata" report button would come in helpful, and that is something that Last.fm, and Last.fm alone can provide.

    you could tell them?

"I don't want to believe, I want to know"

  • Of course I can tell them, but this is a broader issue. Whether or not the error is the label's is immaterial. If Last.fm cares about their metadata (and they should if they want their statistics to make sense), they should make it as easy as possible for users to report issues like this. This is about streamlining process. How many people, on seeing an error, are going to look up the label, navigate to the label's page and leave them a shout? Precious few. How many would click a button on the very page where the error shows — a button which behind the scenes could easily have the same effect as prodding whoever is responsible for the metadata? Many more.

    +1
Could this be moved to the Feedback and Ideas forum?

! Naxos haven't put a message on their page since April 2008 though. I wonder if they're bothered.
