Is there a way to acquire abandoned last.fm accounts?

Hello,
I was wondering if there was a way for me to acquire a user name in which the last.fm account associated with it seems to be abandoned. The profile hasn't been updated since Nov 10, 2006 and the user hasn't logged in since March 2008. Is there any way I can acquire this user name for my own?

Nope: usernames are not changed, inactive accounts are not deleted.

There's even a terse and to-the-point FAQ entry that's sort of related:
