You've probably already done it, or don't need it, but just in case http://www.ghacks.net/2010/06/14/how-to-make-sure-that-google-chromes-flash-plugin-is-up-to-date/

  • Thanks for the link Babs, should prove useful in the future. I'm all green, but still unable to play :(

Well it definitely works, I can play it too.

Let's see... here are the troubleshooting tips, see if there's anything you've overlooked: What can I do if the music player on the site doesn’t work at all for me?

and also, stating the obvious but check anyway - check the volume. On both the player and your computer. Check you haven't hit a mute button somewhere. (I've been there...)

  • Going through the list:

    * Latest Flash Installed
    * Latest Java Installed & Enabled
    * I've disabled my AV and tried to play the radio, doesn't work. I've also added all last.fm URL's to the Whitelist
    * I've cleared the Cache, deleted cookies etc
    * Not sure about messing around with router settings, I'd be messing with something I don't really understand

Haha, yeah I've been there too, but volume on the system and the player is set to loud.

Thanks for helping, no doubt there will be an obvious solution for this and I'll look a complete tool.

I see it says you're listening to a library radio on your page. Is it working now?

Just thought - do you use any kind of Flash block? Need to disable that too if you do.

  • I clicked on your Radio to test, but it's still trying to load, all I'm seeing is the Last.fm logo, no sound.

I'm not aware of any flash block installed, I'll have a look.

  • Well, it just let me listen to 3 songs, then "Oops, there was a problem starting this station. Please try again." again!! Cursed!!!

  • Same problem here, using internet explorer, cannot update flash or use another browser as am not admin (in university) this has happened not only here, but at home using chrome and firefox at my friends, so no idea what's going on...last.fm needs to fix this as I've seen long-term users leaving because of issues like this.

Please let me know if there is a solution to this?

    (O_o)
  • Having the same problem, none of the tested radio stations (global tag radios) work nor by library. Using Opera on XPSP3 latest flash versions installed weeks ago. Also i can't see the status page any longer.... indefinite wait for it to appear.

No change made to my computer except yesterdays MS patch.

    gonna try the client :S

Edit: client does also not work, ERROR: this item is not available for streaming.

also no similar artist radio does not work. :-(

I can't be held responsable for whatever i say

    Same problem

In the best case, my Mix radio plays a few songs, then hangs while buffering the next song and I get the "Oops" notification. Sucks.

  • Just started happening to me, as well. Was listening all morning and then it quit.

  • Maybe...

Maybe the last.fm scrobbler will work

    and i was like yoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
  • another data point

I am using the Mac last.fm client (1.5.4.28012) and when I try to stream my neighborhood radio I get...

    Error

Sorry, the playlist service is not responding.
    Please try again later.

And when I try to go to http://status.last.fm/ I get a message from Safari saying that the server is not responding.

I could stream yesterday, and I am still able to scrobble from Clementine (I am using the time to catch up on albums I have been putting off checking out :3). I don;t know where all of the various parts of your operation are located, so i suppose it could still possibly be routing issues or something.

  • Same problem here... Yeah and status down as well.

  • It isn't working either

    Not working

    and i was like yoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Still not working for me - firefox,, win XP and 7

  • Status page not working here either, very weird

  • client reads "this item is not available for streaming" for every station, and site gives me the same "oops" message for every station. This has been going on since yesterday, when my client stopped working out of nowhere. This is getting frustrating.

    jumping on the bandwagon

I've tried it on Windows 7 Chrome and IE9.

tried it on Xbox 360 app

    tried it on WP7 app

    nadda

  • additionally, status page wont load at all
    awesome

  • Can't play my radio selections either

What gives! Guess I'll have to move to a new site, can't get anything to play!

  • Content in the "Cloud"? What happened?

    What is happening here?

If this were a B2B Cloud Service ( Read anything provided as a service via the web, business to business) then last.fm would be in breach of Service Level Agreements and effectively be in breach of contract!

The industry is moving to content on demand and media on demand as well as cloud services for MSFT Exchange and other common productivity tools. last.fm is now a key provider of media services owned by a major Global corporation (CBS).

If the powers that "be" in CBS don't realise that the future of their business is about "RELIABLE" content delivery, then, they will lose (very quickly and irrevocably) to their competitors...nothing new here!!!

I do know that everyone has a bad day with technology...witness RIM a couple of weeks back but....

Please please try to invest and maintain what is both a great content delivery website with a good and still loyal client base!!!

    last.fm, please make it so!!!

    : )

Both are failing for me too. I get the yellow tab with "Oops, there was a problem starting this station. Please try again." every time I try any station. *sadpanda*
