Library Will Not Play

  • Library Will Not Play

    Dudes,

I've been unable to play any library radio for a while now. I'm unable to play in both the website & the client. The website player displays the Last.fm logo and occasionally tries to buffer, and the client reads "The Last.fm servers are temporarily overloaded, please try again in a moment."

I've checked the FAQ and have ensured that Flash & Java are up to date. I've also included the library URL to my AV Whitelist so it shouldn't be a problem. I'm using Chrome.

    Any help appreciated.

    Thanks,

    same here.

  • I get the same issue but a different error message, "Oops, there was a problem starting this station. Please try again." I have tried numerous times with different stations, but the same time! Gah!

I see that I'm not alone...My library stations will not play, either. It says, that "it is not available for streaming".

  • Same "Oops!" here...

Yes, same here right now... I am actually glad the problem seems not to be on my side! :-) Hope it will work soon, guys...

  • This is pap! How do we actually contact real Last.fm people?

  • Still the oops thing...

Oops, problem starting station. I hate having to go back to pandora, as usual.

  • I'm just glad that I'm not the only one who is having problems. No radio station will play music. I keep receiving that same error message.

  • Same here, no station will play...

  • This is the Twilight Zone.

I was thinking about the same thing... :-) I think this might work:

    http://www.last.fm/about/contact
    and
    http://www.last.fm/about/moderators

Maybe someone, who is native english speaker and "not-a-student-who-needs-to-study" could try to contact them. :-D Actually... I am quiet sure they know there is the "Oops!" thing happening.

  • Same. Tried on two different browsers, both with updated Flash and Java. :( And I don't see a staff response. I guess Spotify will do in a pinch...

  • I gave up and went on YouTube instead lol I miss Pandora, I used to listen to it years ago before the UK licensing issues meant that you could no longer listen to it in the UK. I sometimes listen to the radio stations on iTunes, but sometimes the songs are so hit and miss. I've not heard of Spotify, I will look it up :o)

  • @YoursVesper, I checked out the Moderators page and they are only for social stuff, so no go there. I checked out the Contact Us page, chose Radio issues and got this reply, "Unfortunately we cannot provide any email support for questions about the Last.fm Radio features at this time.

Please have a look at our FAQ for help on any questions you may have about how the Last.fm Radio works. If you can't find what you're looking for or have other problems, visit our support forums where you can discuss your questions with other Last.fm users.” Hmm... we ARE discussing it in the support forums but it’s still broken!

  • Tick Tock

Yeah the contact pages seem to lean heavily toward the FAQ and the support forums, which we have all exhausted. I'm hopeful that a Mod will catch wind of this and pass it on to someone who may be able to investigate.

  • @MusicLoverGirli: Thanks for trying! It seems that nobody wants to talk directly with users. :-P
I am happy it is working again! But I am suprised I can't see message like: "We are sorry for that fail, it was caused by sunspots or whatever. Now it is fixed..." :-P (Or... Did I overlook any tiny letters? :-D)

    NICE DAY TO ALL

  • Sorry about that, this happened outside of office hours so we didn't see this till this morning. Can you let us know if you are still having problems please?

I am having the same problems for 3 days now. It worked for 2 days after I subscribed and is dead eversince.
Neither client nor website plays any station, I see the last.fm logo in the website but nothing playing, rergardless of whether I use Chrome or IE.
The scrobbler indicates a track but the time doesn't start running, though it seems that the tracks do change after I let it run in the background and come back later. Still nothing happening for me.

  • Still the same for me here. Switching between "Play in Page" & "Play in Software" in settings has no effect. I'm starting to see a yellow "Oops..." message in the player though, which I've not had before, it used to continuously try and buffer.

    Thanks,

  • I've tested both your accounts and the library radio streams correctly. Please try updating the Flash player and make sure Play music in page is checked in your website settings.

  • Hey Knapster, thanks for helping. I saw that you were able to play my library... but I have just tried again to no avail. I'm running the latest version of Chrome, which updates Flash automatically, website settings are fine. I'm going to manually install Flash through Safari to see if this solves the problem.

Chrome has its own version of Flash too, won't hurt to check that's up to date.

  • I'm running 11.0.1.152 in all browsers.
