weeklychartlist timestamp messy

  • weeklychartlist timestamp messy

    Hi,

    I had an user reporting a problem with my extended charts script. He found that he gets wrong artist-counts and discovered that the timestamps overlap. Is there anything you can do about that, or anything I could use as a bugfix?

    weeklychartlist for Sylviofurtado:
    http://ws.audioscrobbler.com/1.0/user/Sylviofurtado/weeklychartlist.xml

    <chart from="1137975591" to="1138580391"/>
    Mon, 23 Jan 2006 01:19:51 to Mon, 30 Jan 2006 01:19:51

    <chart from="1138536002" to="1139140802"/>
    Sun, 29 Jan 2006 13:00:02 to Sun, 5 Feb 2006 13:00:02

    This seems to be the problem.

    Thanks in advance.

  • i am the user!!! hope i can see a fix for it! ;)

    I am wondering if this is related to the problems with incorrect charts actually.

  • At least there is an inconsistence between the weekly and overall artist charts. It concerns only _some_ artists (those artists that are probably doublecounted or not counted because of the overlap) and it cannot be explained by the differing dates of weekly/overall chart generation.
    I checked that manually, e.g. for Los Hermanos (with 483 counts by weekly and 600 by overall on user page)

    I've changed the daterange to the correct dates and recalculated that week's usercharts. Thanks for the heads up, can't remember what could've gone wrong that week.

  • Thank you, the weeklylist is fixed now. Sadly it didn't change the difference between the overall and weekly counts. Los Hermanos for example changed from 483 to 481, whereas the overall stats still say 600. (And as said before it is not my script's fault, because I get the same values by manually counting.)

    Would be interesting whether recalculating the overall charts would lead to the same results. But if it's only some strange old irregularity that can't do damage any more, there might be more important things to do, i guess.

  • thanks for all the work all you had with my stats!!! i still wonder what is wrong with these values...

  • i think i just figured out what happens to my charts...

    about 2 years ago Last.fm had a big problem with chart generation and the submission servers... our players kept scrobbling but weekly and overall charts were not generated timely as it is today...

    so, the problem with Talion' site is that it gets information from the weekly charts... and at that time when Last.fm were having issues, the songs that were scrobbled didn't count initially for the overall plays or the weekly charts... later when the submission server was fixed, all the scrobbles were counted for the overall charts, but the weekly charts were not regenerated

    am i clear? very confusing!!! :)

    is there any possibility that my weekly charts for that period could be regenerated? how long does last.fm keeps the play information from the songs?
