i am curious....with this new trip to Vienna is the money from donations and the google ads going to help the purchasing of whatever is needed? what is the total amount of money in the pot right now?
Audioscrobbler and Last.fm are run on the same servers (both sites run by the same team) Last.fm Ltd stumped up to get us out there to fix things. A friend of Last.fm owns the data center where the machines are hosted, so we have free hosting. Very generous of www.sil.at
The money in the pot is what it says on the donations page, plus an undisclosed amount from google ads - which google forbid us from revealing - and will be put towards (in full or in part) some new hardware. The next thing we need may well be another webserver, seeing as we have a database server on the way.
No it wouldn't... we already have a seperate web server, but we need another one. But if we take a database server down, then we obviously have to take the web server down too...
Uptime is only terrible because our luck is awful.
