Thu 5 Aug – Wacken Open Air 2010

My journey (and my cousin's) to Wacken started in Józefów at 5.15 am on 3rd August. Took the train from Warszawa Centralna and then MetalTravel bus from Berlin ZOB. All was "peaceful" and quiet until we got to ZOB. It was very easy identifying who was going to Wacken... we also got greeted by "WAAACKKEEN!!!" shouts. Love the Wacken spirit. From my first experience (2008), I thought that the bus ride to Wacken would be "peaceful" and quiet... but it wasn't like that. The Wacken party started right there! Almost everybody was drinking beer, singing out chants in German which I did not understand but also some metal songs which I understood... Met some nice people, from many countries, in one bus: Italy, Australia, Germany to name a few... The most memorable would be the Italians when they messed up the chairs and then an Australian (forgot his name...was it Aaron?!) just lay down on them. Oh yeah... there was also Metal Karaoke...

Thu 5 Aug – Wacken Open Air 2010

yes my long journals are still gone, so here's a short list of ups and down where the ups, once again, outweigh the downs by A LOT (but they down still need to be mentioned, because one always needs to better oneself)

+++ the journey and stay at the Freezeforze tourbus. We drove together with another bus of the Frisianpartyzone and I had a blast as well one the road as on the campsite
+++ food & drink quality, especially:
+++ chicken wings, damn they were spicy but so very very nice :D
+++ hollandische pommes frites, better than at most Dutch cafes
+++ Slush-ice with alcohol <3
++ hotdogs
++ witnessed some awesome performances; highlights:
+++ solstafir
+++ gojira
+++ ghost brigade
++ ihsahn
++ amorphis
+ orphaned land
+ the devil's blood
+ the overall very good organisation, compliments
++ on campsite Y in the back there's a big house or farm which is open every year. here you are able to shower or eat breakfast/other meals very cheap compared to on the festival site. …

WEDNESDAY>>> Fiddler's Green-2 / Red Hot Chilli Pipers-3

Extra notes for Wednesday:
1- Both these bands played on the Wackinger Stage, Fiddler's Green wanted some "Crowd Surfing" and got it.
Later on the crowd did a "Circle-Pit" and "Wall of Death"...and that by Fiddler's Green...totally wacko!!!
