Shame I hadn't thought of that before... camped outside the Pains gig and very unlikely to squeeze in. Sadness.

@miles_t the venues fill up pretty quickly in the evening time; there's no way you could just turn up shortly before metric are on, it will already be stuffed, chances are you won't get in; you pretty much need to go to your venue and stay there for much of the evening, at least two hours before the main act are on - this will definitely be the case for the big name acts anyway like metric, patrick wolf, CSS, etc

anyone know how quickly the venues will fill up? I really want to see Metric who are playing at 9:45 friday would it mean I would have to go to that venue (honeyclub) early and watch earlier bands there or just be able to turn up when they are due on? Sorry never been to a city fesival and haven't a friggin clue how it works!! Going down for friday and saturday . cheers

I would comment live but I'm not witty enough for that... Only a bunch more hours to Pains now!

I took it to be that most festivals run from Friday to Sunday, whereas Great Escape is Thursday - Saturday (and thus presumably more difficult to arrange time off for). Anyways, back on the festival, just over a week away now. I've impressed myself in not losing my ticket in the 11 months that I've had it and hoping for some good weather.

not that I am complaining... but of all the "weekend festivals" just exactly The great escape had to be Thursday/Friday/Saturday instead of a more regular Friday/Saturday/Sunday????????????

12pm, hmmm. I'm only going on the Thursday as my friend's band is playing with Just Jack so we have to leave there about midnight as we're coming from Birmingham...I'd prefer it to be 12pm and not midnight!!

thursday, and it says "12:00pm". i'm hoping they mean midnight, and not lunchtime. the schedule is laid out so badly!
