Hinterland Festival – Glasgow – Thursday 30th April 09
The inaugural ‘Hinterland’ music and arts festival is being touted as Glasgow’s answer to the ‘Camden Crawl’, for two days Hinterland take over 14 of the city’s most renowned venues, encompassing an eclectic array of bands and artists, totalling over 100(from burgeoning young-albeit-noisy pups such as ‘Geordi La Force’…to those so long in the Tooth they can remember St. Mungo himself…Mark E. Smith-‘The Fall’).
For those of you not privy to Glasgow’s labyrinth of subterranean hot spots, elaborate (at times infuriating) grid system and imposing industrial edifice, this may prove a daunting but ultimately worthwhile venture, unlocking the incomparable musical riches that Glasgow has to offer.
After a lengthy, arduous traffic-jam laden journey, I finally arrived in Glasgow, under a cloud of dejection (missing arranged interview with one of headline acts) and circling the City-Centre…
