Washington Jewish Music Festival

The Ninth Annual Washington Jewish Music Festival brings an exciting mix of sound and energy to DC May 31 – June 8. This year’s Festival kicks-off with a huge celebration on the National Mall – in honor of Israel’s 60th Birthday. The Festival line-up includes sounds from Poland to Havana, American Jazz to European Classical. The music will transport the audience to far away lands, and will then bring them back home to join in making music with the community. En route, the music has changed and been reinvented, affected by cultures and peoples, languages and regions, while leaving its mark on the local scene. This year’s Festival celebrates and explores the wide spectrum of sounds and traditions that make up Jewish music. The eclectic mix of unique compositions and performances exemplify how musicians today echo the ways of the past, as they create new art moving forward.
