Neko fans: I recorded video on my camera of the four songs she played from the new album, and Stereogum has them all in one place. Enjoy! http://stereogum.com/archives/video/neko-case-covers-harry-nilsson-performs-new-songs-at-bumbershoot_018471.html

Did anyone else catch The Shackletons on Day 2? They just blew me away!

Thao and the Get Down Stay Down, West Indian Girl, T.I., The Black Keys, STP - they've all been amazing. The best part about Bumbershoot is the awesome variety. STP rocked out tonight (even if they did show up a half hour late). And I feel sorry for anyone who missed West Indian Girl, they're one of the most special things I've ever experienced (worth missing Band of Horses for).

Beck: amazing, as always, but more loose & casual than I've seen him before. Thao & the Get Down Stay Down: endlessly inventive rhythmically and on the guitar, passionate vocally and kinda funny. Wreckless Eric & Amy Rigby: intense, goofy, creative and a whole lot of fun. A great day at Bumbershoot. Don't miss the people on the tall bendy poles - hypnotic.

What about Black Eyes and Neck Ties and Thee Emergency. And if you've never seen STP live you should because they rock. Oh and quit whining. There are too many whiners in Seattle

Sooooo excited about The Weakerthans, Sondre Lerche and Langhorne Slim! Plus so many other acts I haven't had a chance to see yet: Death Cab, The Black Keys, Band Of Horses, etc. It should be good, no matter what the Negative Nellies have to say!

At least they've finally got the city and venue right. I guess I should be more positive about this year: Lucinda always puts on a good show, and Neko can be fun. Last time I saw Death Cab they were pretty good, and I'd totally see Doughty on Monday if there were any other bands I liked that day. Saul Williams could be interesting. Um. Wreckless Eric & Amy Rigby anyone?

this year's lineup is the balls. seriously, STP and The Offspring headlining??? those bands weren't even all that great back in their 'prime'. this festival gets worse and worse every year. i had free tickets last year from the record store where i worked and still didn't go. poo poo on the bumbershoot. just save your cash for the built to spill show on the 4th. now THAT will actually be "epic".
