I've always had second thoughts about such mass events and always thought it was overrated, but the truth is that I wanted to go last summer, but didn't have the money. After all, it seems that every self-respecting Bulgarian metalhead should go to Kavarna sooner or later. The main attraction for me were In Flames, though I wanted to see Slayer, as well. As for Manowar - I just wanted to make sure that they are the pathetic posers I've always suspected them to be. I didn't even want to go to Alice Cooper, but a friend gave me a free invitation and I am not sorry that I went at all.
The first few hours in Kavarna I felt like a child in a candy store. Everywhere I looked, I saw a sea of black t-shirts, mostly of Manowar. The tent camp was at the side of the stadium, right next to the cemetary gates, ha-ha... But we, being older and richer fans of hygiene, rented rooms.
