By:Larm is Scandinavia’s largest music conference. Every year it moves from one Norwegian city to another. By:Larm consists of two parts: a festival and a conference. The conference is a meeting place for the Norwegian and foreign music industries. A series of lectures, seminars and debates are held during the day. The festival concerts take place at night and are open to the public. Their main focus is to present artists that are on the verge of success, either in their homelands or internationally. By:Larm’s main office is in Oslo and is operated by the firm Bureau Storm, which is led by Erlend Mogaard-Larsen. A local administrative office is set up each year in the host city. In the last ten years by:Larm has been held in Tromsø, Bergen, Stavanger, Kristiansand and Trondheim. By:Larm 2008 takes place in Oslo 21-23 February.

At by:Larm in Trondheim 2007 there were:

* More than 1,800 ”Speed Meetings”
* Approximately 50 lectures, debates and workshops
* Approximately 190 concerts
* Almost 1,400 registered attendees and nearly 500 musicians/performers

The upcoming festival in Oslo will feature approximately the same number of concerts, lectures, debates and workshops as the previous year.
