Saturday 15 September 2007 — Sunday 16 September 2007
Amusement Park, Pécs ("Vidampark")
Founded in 1996, Earthdance – the Global Festival for Peace has grown to become the world’s largest simultaneous dance and music event. Equipped with only a fax machine, a telephone, and a strong vision, Earthdance founder Chris Deckker organized 18 cities from his home in London.
Each year Earthdance has continued to attract new participating locations, each self-funded and fueled by grassroots enthusiasm. The infectious groove spread from 18 participating cities in 1997 to 340 participating locations in 2006.
The highlight of the Earthdance event is a simultaneous link up, when every event across the world plays the 4-minute Prayer for Peace track. Morning in the Australian rainforest, midnight in London, and sunrise over the Himalayas, the Prayer for Peace is a profound and powerful moment that unifies our intentions for world peace and healing.
Once a year, Earthdance participants join together on the same day, same time, same moment for the prayer for peace and to support humanitarian causes through the global language of music and dance.
