Born in 2009, Boomslang is a multi-venue festival in Lexington, Ky., presented by the state’s leading student-run radio station, WRFL. Broadcasting live 24 hours a day from the University of Kentucky campus with a recently-upgraded to 7900 watts of power, WRFL provides a platform for eclectic, non-commercial music and other programming not found anywhere else in the region, and Boomslang is an extension of that service. Highlighting Lexington’s unique venues, businesses, artists and organizations, as well as a diverse line-up of genre-spanning artists from around the world, Boomslang aims to provide an eclectic mix of programming not found anywhere else in the region, including (but not limited to) music, literary art, film and fashion.
In addition to 4-day weekend passes, individual tickets are available for Jeff Mangum, The Music Tapes and William Tyler at the Kentucky Theatre, DOOMSLANG at Buster’s, and The Jesus & Mary Chain, Dinosaur Feathers and Gary War at Buster’s.
