Small Black – A relatively young band, Small Black released their first EP in 2009 on Jagjaguwar to critical acclaim, which was soon followed by their debut full length ‘New Chain’that Pitchfork proclaimed “feels like a sunrise bike ride with a head full of weed, but this time in full-blown technicolor.” In 2011 the band continued their success with the release of a free mixtape via their website called ‘Moon Killer’ that proved when chillwave finally crested, Small Black would crash in the surf. Instead as Spin Magazine eloquently put it “this free mixtape is more killer than chiller.”
Kite – 80s synth-pop revivalists, Kite, toured China last year, introducing dehydrated crowds to their thirst quenching sounds drenched in 80s nostalgia. After the successful release of their 4th EP, this Swedish band is back for more.
