For one weekend each year Digbeth’s arches vibrate with strange, wonderful sounds as the Custard Factory becomes the focal point for one of the UK’s most distinctive and respected music festivals…Supersonic Festival.

2012 marks the ten year anniversary of this dynamic, constantly challenging, experimental, multi-disciplinary arts festival, which identifies the otherwise indescribable connections between experimental music, art, performance and film. To commemorate this impressive and very special milestone this year, Capsule propose to work with Supersonic alumni and emerging artists to celebrate the achievements of the festival thus far whilst also focusing firmly on the contemporary. Because as well as giving a warm welcome to many influential, era-defining artists over the years, Supersonic always has an uncanny knack for highlighting new acts before everyone else is talking about them.

Wow, what an amazing weekend! Big thanks to you all for helping to make this year so spectacular. We're starting to gather our Supersonic 2012 collective memory - please feel free to add to it!

Good year this year but yeah the food was crap. £5 for chicken Japanese curry with a small bit of chicken :/ The toasties were the only thing decent. Music wise, Lash Frenzy were awesome and the Friday night was epic. Time to give this Hey Colossus album and Devilman cd a spin!

got to agree about the food. burgers were a rip-off and not as nice as last year. The only festival I've ever been to that doesn't have chips.

And here comes my rant that's been due ever since I saw the full lineup: I miss the incredible band selections from a few years ago like 2009! It's as though the promoters are becoming more and more self indulgent in what they do with each year that passes. I mean, that's good if you're a musician but when you're putting on gigs and festivals surely it's in your own interest to pay at least a little attention to what people want?

Merzbow. WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT?! That was certainly something...

Oh, I forgot Clifford Torus. They were incredible!

Excellent weekend! Highlights for me were: Jarboe, Doomsday Student, Tomutonttu, Koyxen, Nic Bullen, KK Null, Lash Frenzy, Stian Westerhus, Dope Body, Thomas Ankersmit, Drunk in Hell. The Imperfect Cinema was a real treat and a privilege to see some of my contributions up on the big screen (whilst I was frenziedly moshing, of course!) Some of the food was fucking awful this time. That veggie stall ought to be ashamed to be in business. Burger buns like biscuits and burgers with the consistency of oxo cubes. Japanese curry is always a winner though.

RIDICULOUSLY good performances from almost everyone I saw. Highlight had to be Lash Frenzy but Devilman, Merzbow, KK Null, JK Flesh, Tim Hecker, Bohren, Zeni Geva, Hype Williams and Goat were all up there with the best things i've ever seen.

Less than 24 hours until the Custard Factory is flooded with riffs in all shapes and sizes... can't wait!

Volunteering and my shifts clash horrendously with the handful of bands I was interested in, glorious! That's what I get for being a skinflint :D

the only real clash for me is Hookwooms and Dylan Carson.. not too bad considering. can't wait for Saturday now!

The Bohren/Jarboe clash is a bummer, but can't complain about an 80 minute Ufomammut set.

Is anyone going to this able to put up an 18 year old student volunteer (myself) for Friday & Saturday night? I've already been confirmed volunteer shifts and everything but I can't afford to stay anywhere - I can bring a sleeping bag so really if you have a sofa or a spare bit of floor space or whatever I really don't mind. Or maybe if someone could refer me to a dirtily cheap place to stay that I may have neglected to find in my search, that'd be helpful as well? Any help much appreciated, please message me ASAP - http://www.facebook.com/jamesisbait
