globalFEST is a creatively curated bright spot for music lovers in the dark days of early January. It’s the premier gateway event for artists from around the world in various stages of their careers. It’s also a party, turning winter doldrums into a multi-continent romp on three-stages, at one of downtown New York’s hippest venues. For the ninth year, this leading showcase for international music maintains its position at the cutting edge of cultural exchange in the U.S., providing dozens of musician’s access to the national stage. The event takes place on three stages at Webster Hall, one of NYC’s most historic nightclubs. With one ticket, festival-goers can see twelve acts in one night, representing diverse global styles.
globalFEST is part of and timed to coincide with the annual Association for Performing Arts Presenters conference (APAP), the most important booking event in North America, when thousands of concert presenters from throughout North America and abroad are in New York seeking new talent to program their upcoming seasons. The festival directors are Bill Bragin of Acidophilus: Live & Active Cultures, Isabel Soffer of Live Sounds and Shanta Thake of Joe’s Pub at The Public Theater.
