Live Earth is the name for a series of concerts of pop and rock music planned to take place on Saturday July 7, 2007 to promote action to confront global climate change. [1] The umbrella organization for the event is a new global movement under the name Save Our Selves (SOS). The intention is to present seven concerts on the same day - one concert on each of Earth’s seven continents. The plans for the concerts were announced at a media event in Los Angeles on February 15, 2007 by former U.S. Vice President Al Gore and other celebrity activists. The inspiration for promoting the cause using the vehicle of benefit concerts comes from many similar events over the past 25 years including the 1985 Live Aid concerts, the 2005 Live 8 concerts and Amnesty International’s 1988 Human Rights Now! World Tour.

From Little Things Big Things Grow was awesome kicked the show up a gear was great to see 4 generations of Aussie music belting out a classic song, John Butler was wicked and Micheal Barker's drum solo was awesome, and the waves i swear the second big one (during JBT) went around 10 times

My jaw dropped when Jack Johnson broke into a bit of Led Zeppelin's Whole Lotta Love. Wow, that was awesome.

The sound was terrible for a lot of the bands, especially wolfmother I felt really embaressed for them with their shitty guitar noodling, especially since they had to go on after John Butler, a far more acomplished guitarist Crowded House & John Butler Trio were definatly higlights, although 'From Litlle Things Big Things Grow' was probably the song which encapsulated the spirit of the event

The Crowdies owned. John Butler and Jack Johnson were pretty good too, but I thought Wolfmother were getting a bit self-indulgent with those instumental bits.
