Plektrum is a festival that takes place once a year in September and October in Tallinn, the capital of the Northern European small country Estonia. The festival lasts for 10 days and its goal is to present and render meaning to the confuences of people, technology and contemporary culture.

This is why Plektrum creates unique experiences, refecting the world-view of a contemporary individual, which combines the processes between technology and different areas of culture. Over the years Plektrum has offered new ways of thinking and cultural experience, and raised a body of critical themes resonating amongst the audiences helping the festival to emerge into a platform for creative ideas and projects in the region.

The festival was founded in 2006 on the initiative of a group of young creative intellectuals interested in music and art. By now, Plektrum has developed into a 10 day multidisciplinary international festival that is featured as one of the highlights of Tallinn 2011 European Capital of Culture year, and attracting audiences from Estonia, Northern Europe and elsewhere.
