“Capsule’s Supersonic festival has evolved…to consistently provide one of UK’s most anticipated Festival line-ups. Fans of dubstep, krautrock, free-jazz and doom metal were all catered for on a bill which promised to both rupture the ears while stimulating the mind through its diverse selection of music, film and specialist talks.” - CLASH

Capsule the brains behind Supersonic Festival are curators, promoters and fans of the finest music, revealing the otherwise indescribable connections between contemporary music and art, crafting extraordinary events for adventurous audiences. Now in it’s 9th year, the event will once again take place at the Custard Factory in the heart of in the heart of Eastside of Birmingham, utilising converted factory warehouses and art galleries and offering up-close, intimate settings to showcase some of the most exciting music out there. Capsule’s passion for genre bending sound and performances is at the heart of all their events – there are not many places where you can listen to funeral doom, prog, folk, avant jazz and grindcore in one weekend.

Glad others found Teeth of the Sea annoying. I was really looking forward to seeing them but had to leave after 10 minutes. I've never seen such a smug band

I agree about Teeth of the Sea. Musically uninteresting and physically irritating!

Teeth of the Sea were annoying, especially the Himmler lookalike. Phew- finally got that off my chest. I saw them acting like complete pricks at Zombi too... guuuuuh! >:(

What a fucking amazing festival. The best discover I made was Theet of the sea..really god show. The best for me was Envy, WITTR, E Wizard and Monarch. The Skull Defects was disapoitting since I love Peer Amid, but live I felt they were not so good :\ another line-up for E Wizard....I thinj they cahnge the line up every year...

Friday really enjoyed Mike Watt and SC3, I've seen Part chimp a dozen times and this wasnt a great performance Tim Chimp seemed to be struggling with ill health and kept making mistakes having to abandon one song half way through. Saturday Orthodox started the day with a bang and were followed by a captivating Bardo Pond really liked their new stuff, teeth of the sea made some interesting sounds, electric wizard were totally incredible and zombi was a great end . Sunday eternal tapesty were a perfect start soothing my hangover, drum eyes were awesome as was silver apples and my day finished with the perfectly raucous sounds of white hills. Have to agree with poster below that Birmingham was a bit on the dour side but the people were very friendly. Will come back next year for sure!
