This was fuuuuun. Ash were a lovely lovely nostalgia trip. Na Zdrove, Errors and Dignan Porch were my highlights, though, by far.

Ahahaha best post on this whole thread, would read again; will recommend to friends 8/10.

Had my pizza torn up by a security man because I "looked jewish", got cheese+sauce on my Levi's. Will not return 2 this festival next year!

  • Tamahone

Probably disrupting other bro's enjoyment though isn't it. Go have your emo moment in the corner not the center of the stage.

  • SargeyBabes

Apprently it is legal(?) to get made fun of + told to leave by staff for crying at the front row of the mainstage (not harming anyone)

http://www.tramlines.org.uk/wp/wp-content/uploads/tramlines_2011_listings.pdf for people who haven't been to previous years - the main stage fills up fast, but you can still get in pretty much any time before the well-known acts come on in the evening. Everywhere else has always been busy but easily accessible during the day, getting a lot busier in the evening. Timings usually mess up completely too, so if there is a band you desperately want to see, don't trust the programme!

Cosmonaut - "There are heavy rock bands playing all over the festival. Rolo Tomassi, The Ghostof a Thousand, Shapes, Brontide, Hawk Eyes, Dananananaykroyd, run,Walk!, Castrolava just to name a few. Tramline is the perfect way to discover bands/artists that you wouldn't normally listen to. There is such a variety of music on offer that there will always be something different in each venue." None of them proper "rock" or metal bands (Rolo Tomassi are crap), are they suppose to be the token "heavy" bands or is there something I'm not getting? Shitty festival but at least it is free for those who do enjoy this kind of stuff.

no tickets, but you'll be fine getting into most places. here's where i recommend away from the main stages: FRIDAY - 1) Audacious art experiment @ the showroom + the red house, solly street https://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=219430564768788 recommended - elk, horses, nice 2) Small ideas @ the west end, glossop road https://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=215723838469949, recommended - cuss words, run, walk!, seams. 3) Drownedinsound @ The Harley - https://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=180127275383735 make sure you see - ghosting season, trophy wife, juffage. SATURDAY: Uneven Blonde @ The Bowery - all day. https://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=142357695837662 the corker, make sure you see - bos angeles, hymns, tall ships, algiers, horses (again). via facebook updates are looking the best way to keep in the loop.

there's no tickets, basically it's just getting to the venues before they get completely full... the new music stage is at barker's pool which i'm pretty sure is right outside city hall (where gallows played last year) which is obviously open air, so you'll have no problems with capacity etc. basically just turn up in sheffield and you're sorted

    July 2011
  • Gaemblor

There aren't tickets so I guess it's a case of getting there early or having to queue up after the venues fill up. For the new music stage i'd guess the curfew is around 10pm since the headliners are on at 20.45

Just wondering if anyone can help, since I can't really find the information I'm looking for anywhere: What's the procedure with regards to tickets? I only want to/ can only go on Saturday (specifically looking at the New Music Stage), so would it just be a case of queuing up as early as possible on Saturday for tickets to that, or would I need to go on Friday to get tickets for the festival as a whole? And does anyone know when that stage would be finishing on the Saturday?

P.S. Not really, like I care if you get your Topman underoos in a bunch because I'm putting a dampner on your perfect festival weekender.

He's such a jerk, I bet he'll tread on your desert shoes and throw cider in your perfectly coiffed 'bed head'. Probably talk during all your favourite bands quiet songs while shouting CUNT during every interval. Personally I hope he gets cancer and dies.

one weeek. just a shame that jerk tamahone is attending.

Thanks for that tin_eskimo. Just realised I hadn't posted our Tramlines lineup anywhere on here, until I spotted you'd already done it for us. You are a nice man.

Says the guy with a troll face avatar... There'll be a timetable soon enough, expect all the semi decent bands to clash though.

  • grantjennings

That 'flamewar' was one of the most fucking retarded things I have ever read, and even then I was only skimming. More importantly, I too would like a programme/timetable/call-it-what-you-will. If I'm heading down from Glasgow, I wanna know where I'm going and when!

  • charlf291

Oh my Lord, this entire shoutbox is full of sheer hilarity. But yeah, Tramlines, hurry up and give stage programmes .. and Na Zdrove, get heeeeeeeeere right now.

    July 2011
  • natalie291

Also want a timetable. Last year they released one a week or two in advance if I remember rightly.

    July 2011
  • Gaemblor

sorry to interrupt this slapfest but i'd like to second the request for a list of stages/times since the tramlines website seems to be completely useless at providing this info unless you go to each individual band's page

  • Tamahone

Don't worry bro, you'll graduate on to Electric Wizard and Carcass one day and who knows what good metal bands you might discover from there on in. Aw, it's cute that your feigning indifference/and that you think you're getting me worked up.

    July 2011
  • ValeAdam

You're such a fun guy, Tamahone. I'll make my departure from this shoutbox, lest I infect you with my inferiority.

ahahahahahahahahahahahaahah I got a whupping on a Last.FM events shoutbox and had to call in my friends to call the mean guy a 'cunt'.

    July 2011
  • ValeAdam

Yep. Thanks for being such an inspiration to me in how to be more METULZZZ.

    July 2011
  • Tamahone

God I love it when people with a shit taste in metal and 'hardcore' music deem their taste superior to others. Going to move onto big boy metal bands when you've finished with Slipknot?

    July 2011
  • ValeAdam

Nah lad, Jamie T is shit so I don't listen to him. He's also, by his last.fm description, an "NME award-winner"....

    July 2011
  • CallumRogan

    ahahahahahahahahahahahaahah

Love how you brought your bros in to back you up on the internet, make a whining post on tumblr to rally the troops? Baww, Jamie T is hip hop so you can't listen to him? Go back to head banging in your bedroom to your 400 odd Bullet For My Valentine plays. Seeing Jessie J at Glastonbury doesn't make it any better, could have spent that time seeing someone actually worthwhile. Yeah I'm clearly the idiot when you're the one who bit the troll bait, wow you saw Foals in '07, I guess they were a lot less shit then? What about the other 7 times you saw them? You seeing Metronomy when there was only 15 people there has what bearing on them exactly?? Oh, that you were super cool and saw them before the NME got onto them which means it was okay to go see them the other half dozen times... My charts are set to the last 7 days because I like to see what I've been listening to recently and yeah you're right I love to whack one off to my name being on the JoFo EP cover.

    July 2011
  • CallumRogan

you say it like you somehow know i've gone out and bought a jessie j ticket? that was glastonbury, like many of the others similar. and ok well you obviously just assume i sit and read NME and go LETS GO SEE THEM, not even gna argue with you 'cos your clearly an idiot. Foals first saw in early 07, metronomy likewise, crowd of about 15 first time i saw them, but anyway not gonna go on about it, considering MJ are also in your top 20 along with JoFo who your were just slating i'd say your just as bad, but i guess your plays are set to last 7 days to try hide this while maintaining the play count you obviously get off over.

    July 2011
  • ValeAdam

Tamahone, you have 502 Jamie T plays and are lecturing people on the quality of music they listen to? Sit down. It's a free festival, whining about the line-up is fucking stupid.

    July 2011
  • Matt_Wilcock

    Well. Somebody is a cunt.

    July 2011
  • Tamahone

Are you joking? Foals were pushed so hard by them that they had a rectal prolapse and Mystery Jets were the wunderkids of NME circa '06. Metronomy are one of their latest loves and thse are all bands you've seen numerous times. The rest of your gig list looks like you've hit up every moderately famous indie band that made it into the charts in the last 5 years. (Jessie J really?) I mean my gig list is full of shit but I don't hand over money for tickets at least.

    July 2011
  • CallumRogan

i'd love to know what bands you consider have been dictated by NME that i regularly listen to?

    July 2011
  • Tamahone

Having your whole music taste defined by NME is hilarious.

    July 2011
  • CallumRogan

    'lol' hilarious

    July 2011
  • Tamahone

Does It Offend You, Yeah? (lol).

    July 2011
  • CallumRogan

ok? man am i offended by my own taste in music

    July 2011

Jesus, CallumRogan in '07 music taste shock horror.
