The Sziget Festival (pronounced [‘sigɛt], similar to see’-get) is one of the largest music and cultural festivals in Europe, and more recently, in the world. The festival is held annually in August in Budapest, Hungary and takes place on Óbudai-sziget (“Old-Buda Island”), a leafy island of 108 hectares on the Danube, thus Sziget stands for Island. Currently it boasts more than 1000 performances each year.

@ruttie88.. Cowboy Junkies was amazing, we were like 30 people, she was delicious.. Gogol maybe too long, but gorgeous, i was in front of them and it was vey cool.. The National (i'm listening them while writing to you).. Perfect, maybe he was too drunk, but i love it. I was in the back, after gogol, relaxing with them, was, as i said, perfect.

I have two more questions: 1) What's with that Dutch meeting point? @Jiggino: I guess you were at my very right? I was in the middle, a little bit to the left :)) I faked a tuberculosis crisis at some point to get some more space, but it didn't work :< Highlights: Pulp, National, Prince, Prodigy, Judas Priest, Crystal Castles, Peter Bjorn, Xiu Xiu, Trentemoller, Zombie Nation. Worst shows (I've seen): Skunk Anansie, Gogol Bordello, Rise Against, 30 Seconds. Interpol were below my expectations, but had a really good show, British Sea Power were awesome, but I've already seen a better show in my country, White Lies were pretty cool but went home after Death (they're still a one-album band), Manics were very good, Kate Nash was far better that I've ever imagined her, Kaiser Chiefs/Chemical Brothers were average.

@Dekkul: yep, I was right in front of Alice all the time, in middle of the first row, 3 people on me, 3 people under me, it was really hardcore :D and I also hated Gogol Bordello for playing that long, however, The National were amazing as well as White Lies, almost every gig I wanted to see was stunning.

@jiggino: you were also struggling for life at crystal castles? =))) i was also there, but left after 40 minutes of intense squashing :< still, it was a f***ing great show @coldsheena: who were you? i was RIGHT in front of that perspective :)) p.s: me too, gogol bordello sucked, i was that guy who shouted NA-TIO-NAL and WHITE-LIES when gogol bordello played their last songs =)))
