Arctic Circle presents:

& Sweet Billy Pilgrim.

About the Willkommen Collective

The Willkommen Collective is the name given to the Brighton based group of musicians who play in Shoreline, Sons of Noel and Adrian, The Leisure Society, MoonshineMoonshine, Atlas Crease, Laish Quartet and The Miserable Rich. They are influenced by a wide variety of musical traditions, and with the input from such a diverse pool of players each band in the Collective has been able to create a truly unique sound.

This promises to be a right musical feast as we serve up as much Willkommen goodies in one evening as we possibly can. Bursting from the seams will be such delights as The Sons of Noel and Adrian; Shoreline, Kopek, Rowan Coupland, The Leisure Soceity, the Laish Quartet and some special guests.

About Sweet Bily Pilgrim

The music of Sweet Billy Pilgrim is first and foremost, staggeringly beautiful. But it's a shy beauty - a lingering ambience and a distant clicking in the night, church windows built from littered glass, love songs that look to the day when even the children are forgotten. Strangers tell you their heartbreaks. Fountains toss back their coins. And just when you start to feel skeptical, in shambles singer Tim Elsenburg - shaggy and dour, wringing joy from his melodies with a bashful croak and a glorious croon.

On Sweet Billy Pilgrim's new album:

““..remember how Wilco’s “experimental” album Yankee Hotel Foxtrot turned out to be simply a series of brilliant pop songs? Same thing here....a succession of delicious pop choruses.” (The Sunday Times: 5 stars - CD of the Week)

“The best album of its kind since Elbow's all-conquering The Seldom Seen Kid. That the 30-voice choir finale...is all
him is just one of many miracles this jewel yields.”: 5 stars (Chris Roberts for Uncut)

"This is a beautiful, beautiful album, which will appeal to fans of alt country and a very English strand of art-pop. It
should also be appreciated by lovers of great music everywhere." (Music OMH)

"is this the missing folk sequel to Jonny Greenwood's There Will Be Blood soundtrack?" (Mojo - 4 stars)
