I thought the sound was iffy for the first 2 or 3 U2 songs, but they seemed to clean it up somehow. Visually, the show was really amazing, if not necessarily coherent. Musically the band was really on and Bono sounded great. They didn't work the crowd up as much as last time I saw them (in '05), but they looked & sounded terrific.
Okay, I too was impressed with the sound for U2. The crowd in GA? Not so much. What's with the perpetual picture-taking? People are no longer watching the band but are too preoccupied with getting a crappy picture with their cell phones that you can't even see anything because everyone's arms are up blocking the view! Ranting aside, when I could actually see the band, it was good. Highlights of the night? Magnificent, I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For (Bono's vocals were sharp and in key!), The Unforgettable Fire, and Ultraviolet (Light My Way). Singing Happy Birthday to Bill Gates at the beginning of the show was rather amusing, if not downright surreal.
