We are delighted to confirm that Neil Young will headline Saturday 27 June at this year’s Hard Rock Calling event in London. Tickets will go on general sale on Friday 13th March, 9am.
Joining him as special guests at this prestigious festival are Fleet Foxes, Ben Harper & Relentless7, Seasick Steve and The Pretenders - with more artists to be announced soon.
Undeniably one of the most influential artists in American music Neil Young is set to release his much-anticipated new album ‘Fork In The Road’ on 6 April on Warner Music.
Chrissie Hynde commented on playing on the same bill as Neil Young at Hard Rock Calling: “We would play a garden shed to be on a bill with Neil Young but Hyde Park – summer – with ‘The Loner’? This is what makes a thousand hours on tour buses all worthwhile. This is why people get in bands.”
As part of Hard Rock’s 2009 Ambassadors of Rock Tour, fans will have the opportunity to win a V.I.P. weekend in London for Hard Rock Calling, and trips to other exciting Ambassador of Rock stops around the world, by entering the global sweepstakes on hardrock.com.

I actually genuienly liked his (seasick steve) songs! I am aware some people would just enjoy the novelty of seeing a 'real hobo' from the South on a stage swigging whiskey, but to say it was purely his character that won people over is just not true. ( i'm not a massive fan of his or anything either, but credit where its due)

Neil was astounding -- loved the encore too. Chrissie Hynde and crew were surprisingly good, despite the heat. Ben Harper had some great moments too. But I found Seasick Steve lived up to his name -- completely nauseating. His performance felt disingenuous and depressing -- a mediocre bluesman (decent guitarist though) playing a character to sell to guileless Brits -- right down to swigging the Jack Daniels. But hey, I guess that's why they call it Show Business.

I only really saw SeaSick Steve onwards, i thought he was great and Ben Harper was on the whole pretty good too. Fleet Foxes bored me, i enjoyed their crowd banter during awkward guitar retunings more than the music... Neil Young was of course amazing, one of the best artists I've ever seen, perfect setlist too, can't really say more than that !

Superb! Even after all these years the old fart can still outshine most acts around these days. Not even an appearance by Paul McCartney could spoil a great show, and it could only have been better if he'd played On The Beach or Out On The Weekend.

Their sound/harmonies are so unique it's unmissable. Shame to miss Priscilla too, but you can't see everyone. Seasick Steve, Ben Harper, Fleet Fox,es Magic Numbers and Neil Young was plenty. I can't stop listening to Neil's Live at Massey Hall 1971 album... strikes a chord in me.
