Knebworth Park

Knebworth, Hertfordshire SG3 6PY
United Kingdom
Show on Map

Web: www.knebworthhouse.com/

Great show, great bands. Quite expensive, but hell worth it. Knebworth is a home of rock. The last 30 years has brought us all time classic concerts. Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Beach Boys, Devo, Oasis, Frank Zappa, Chuck Berry, Deep Purple and the last ever original lineup shows for both Queen and Led Zeppelin. But now they’ve secured some bands as exclusives:

Metallica – Knebworth is the only show that Metallica are playing in the UK other than 2009 other than the indoor tour dates that start in Nottingham this Wednesday.

Linkin Park – Knebworth is the only show that Linkin Park are playing in the UK in 2009, plus a special Encore by Chester’s side project Dead By Sunrise!

Avenged Sevenfold – Knebworth is the only show that Avenged Sevenfold are playing in the UK in 2009.

Alice in Chains – Knebworth is the only show that Alice in Chains are playing in the UK in 2009.

yeah was very odd that Avenged Sevenfold were not on the show. they were even shown as being on it in the Sky summary. Will there ever be any way to get the official footage from the festival? Since it was all filmed in HD with multiple cameras they must be planning to do something with the footage (more than a one hour programme anyway). I can't believe they would just sit on it

I watched it. I was disappointed too, where was Avenged Sevenfold? Everyone said they would be on it, as I understand something was wrong, and avenged sevenfold video would be posted online later :D

sonisphere was amazing, I was there mostly for avenged sevenfold, and I had this birthday flag, and he talked to me, and commented my birthday flag, TWICE, after beast and the harlot and before afterlife. I'm looking for a video of him talking about thiss. Has everyone filmed this? I would do SO MUCH to see it again.

The Security were fuckin legends. They were really laid back. They were passing drinks for us to throw at the guys on other side of the barrier. Everytime I asked for a drink of water - I got one. And they even gave us an inflatable bed to crowd surf on. I only saw one security guy that looked slightly pissed off, and that's when he was dragging a crowd surfer out of the crowd. Much better than the Download security.

I wasn't all put out by the security - nothing like as vicious and unpleasent as at Download. What's more, they were actually letting people go into the arena with bottles (small ones) regardless of what was in them. I don't think I've ever seen that at a festival.

Songs I know Corey definetly did were Through The Glass, Bother and a rolling stones cover. Had to wait a few songs before I actually got in the tent... and there were a few didn't catch the names of. :)

The police I saw in Blue 2 were amiable and very laid back... I got the impression the main thing they were there for was to stop drunken people setting fire to their tents.

none of what that bloke said happened to me. i actually commented on how good the sound was, everywhere except later on the sunday on the second stage. and police presence = less thiefery and more safety. as for difficulty getting anywhere, THERE WAS ONE PATH FROM EVERYWHERE TO THE ARENA.

I like how it suggests the visible police presence was a bad thing. What a fuckbag.
