it's interesting to hear people's views about the crowd. for me this was the best gig i have ever been to and likely to go to. i went to oasis week after and to be honest, was a bit boring compared to the blur gig. where i was located (near the back, centre but near a speaker and with a good view of the stage and screen) the crowd were great. they were like me either bopping around, singing and just generally just enjoying themselves. no one on mobiles, throwing bottles (mind you i was in my own little world dancing around so didnt really notice anybody else!) so to hear the crowd weren't that great comes as a suprise. by the way, when damon told people to calm down a bit what was happening that made him say that?

Blur were unbelievable. Like many others, I honestly can't begin to express my anger for the crowd. I could understand if it was a more rowdy band, but it wasn't! And applegrape, I saw a few of the Milky Milk costumes. One of the best gigs I've been to by far!

they really were good :) shame they didn't play bugman i was really hoping they would. Also if they'd maybe played some b sides, or some less well known songs that would have made it really special, not that it wasn't already :) i'm a bit annoyed i missed applegrape below in the milky costume that sounded amazing. I didn't understand why people started throwing the bottles... i thought damon might have said something about it. i'm not so bothered though only got hit twice :P

Blur were absolutely fantastic! Agreed, there were lots of idiots throwing bottles. I was in a Milky Milk carton outfit (did anyone see me!?) and got lifted up by two girls during Coffee and TV, and got soaked to the skin with beer (fortunately not urine). Atmosphere was great, and it seems I was lucky to be around people who weren't constantly on their mobile phones, but instead singing and dancing along the way I'd expect they should. Best gig I've been to for years (possibly ever)!!

@Appers, well I was very close to the front at RH and during the lively songs or singles people were going mad, but during anything from In Rainbows or any other album tracks, people were obviously more interested in chatting to their friends. Again, I think it depends on where you end up standing.

@mashercakes Huh, just goes to show ya. I was there, I made a lot of mates that day. The funny thing is that most the complaints on that page were that the crowd were "dead"- in other words, they weren't gritting their teeth and killing each other! So apparently people aren't happy either way.

@Appers Did you go to the 25th June RH gig? There are quite a lot of comments about the crowd on that date here: http://www.last.fm/event/435701 IMO the crowd (where I was) were arseholes at that gig. I moved around a fair bit, and had the same experience pretty much wherever I was. Looks like I was luckier at Blur :)
