Donderdag 8 januari 2009 presenteert de Nijmeegse rockband De Staat haar debuutalbum “Wait For Evolution” aan het Nederlandse publiek en wel in poppodium Doornroosje in Nijmegen. De oorspronkelijke release stond gepland op 21 maart 2008 in Merleyn, maar dat feest is toen uitgesteld vanwege de interesse van het Nederlandse platenlabel Excelsior, dat onder andere ook Alamo Race Track, Johan en Triggerfinger onder contract heeft. Afgelopen juli tekende De Staat bij Excelsior Recordings. Sindsdien is er veel gebeurd rond de Nijmegenaren en de belangstelling is inmiddels zo groot dat zal moeten worden uitgeweken naar Doornroosje.
