I actually liked the opening act, Baby Venom, though it was clear why they were opening. Their drummer was absolutely nuts. Give them a little more time to flesh out their showmanship, and they'll be solid, I think. I'll echo the sentiment on Extra Life, though, they sucked, or rather, their frontman sucked. Deerhunter. Why are you so good? Seriously, great show from them.

Calvary Scars II/ Aux. Out was the best song to finish on. Its my favourite from them.

Glad we weren't the only ones to dislike Extra Life. A pretty decent post-rock band with the most out of place front man + vocals. If they'd have done instrumentals I would have thought they were great!

extra life were appalling - i can dig that kind of stuff if the lyrics are decent enough to support the proggy song structure, but man those lyrics were abysmal. deerhunter, on the other hand, were incredible. my body was consumed by gorgeous noise. saved by old times ftw

As soon as they finished Cavalry Scars I made my way as I was running late. What'd I miss, if anything?

Great gig. Vocals a bit low in the mix or was that intended? Regardless, I enjoyed every minute, was right down the front, on the centre of the stage! Encore was incredible: Cover Me --> Agoraphobia --> Cavalry Scars. I got the setlist: http://img259.imageshack.us/my.php?image=imag2238.jpg NB: They did not always stick to this order. And yeah, Bradford is a true nice-guy. I loved it when he was changing the strings on his guitar- hilarious!

Deerhunter were stunning, and Bradford is more than probably one of the nicest people in music, as demonstrated by the ten minutes of happy birthdays.

First band, well you could tell they were pretty amateur, and had pretty much no rapport with the crowd, but I liked their sound once they got into it. Extra Life were so, so shit. I gave their album a listen a month back or so and thought it was alright, not amazing by any means, but listenable. Live they sucked. A pretentious wankfest of pointlessly complex music. It kind of felt like they were playing 4 different songs at once and trying to make it sound good. Will avoid them in the future. And the singer looks like a tosser. Deerhunter were awesome. I've never felt calmer at a gig than when they started playing Hazel St., quite strange. I loved every second of it though. Basically 1 and a half hours of fantastic distortion and reverb filling the venue. Bradford (lead singer) seems like a really cool guy too with what he said and stuff. Totally worth the £9 ticket price alone.

First act was fucking awful. Extra Life were ok, but the vocalist was a bit too....theatrical with his vocal delivery and the clicking. The acapella bits in their songs were a bit Spinal Tap/Tenacious D.

i really didn't get the first two acts, i thought they were pretty bad. Deerhunter to the rescue.
