    Mon 16 Mar – The Killers, Louis XIV

    Wer Pomp, Glamour und Übertreibung nicht in einem gigantisch überdimensionalen Indiepop-Konzert vereint sehen will, sollte wohl entweder The Killers live meiden, oder sich einfach mal zurücklehnen und überzeugen lassen.
    Denn auch wenn man Lightshows a la Coldplay und Frontmann-Gehabe a la U2 affektiert und nervig findet, bei den Killers funktioniert das alles. Vielleicht liegt das daran, dass man die Herren automatisch mit ihrer Heimat Las Vegas verbindet und deshalb die Wand aus bunten Glühbirnen tatsächlich Sinn macht, oder daran, dass Brandon Flowers im Gegensatz zu Chris Martin nicht wie ein alkoholkranker Schimpanse wirkt, wenn er Posen wirft und seine Botschaften im Gegensatz zu denen von Bono unaufdringlich und wenig oberlehrerhaft wirken. Jedenfalls kann man vorab schon mal anmerken, dass es bis jetzt nur wenigen (um genau zu sein, eigentlich nur den Foo Fighters und den Kaiser Chiefs) gelungen ist, in diese große böse Halle des Zenith so eine Bombenstimmung zu zaubern!

    Yes, The Killers are Human -and that makes them an outstanding live band.

    Many said Day & Age was not that good, and they were right. They also said the show could not be very special. And they were so wrong.
    The Killers moved the crowd from the first moment on. Human was the opener, and for the first time in months it was not boring. Also the other new songs really work well on stage. In fact Spaceman was one of the many highlights. And they played each and every chartbreaking single, which was not dull at all. Still it was amazing, regarding they do tour the world for almost an entire year now. Even more amazing was that they were really enthusiastic about the show and seemed to be totally devoted to their music. Great concert, no doubt at all.
    My favorite was Jenny Was A Friend Of Mine which was just stunning and still gives me the creeps. I lost my voice, but it was worth it. If you have got the chance to see them, just go!
