The Westheimer Block Party returns this fall with more stages, bands, artists, and portable toilets than ever before. For the 7th time, Free Press Houston will make the corner of Westheimer and Taft come alive with the sounds, sights, and stinks of the local art and music scene. This fall’s Block Party will be both expanded and extended with more properties and will continue throughout the evening. To close the evening, Austin’s VoxTrot and several local favorites will be hosted ( just 12 bux) inside Numbers. Like always, the fest is free and will be located at the 300-500 block of Westheimer. Last April’s Block Party was our most successful with more than 5,000 attendees, excellent local reviews, and a great time had by all. This October’s Block Party will feature more than 50 artists exhibiting live painting, performance art, installation work, and ‘street decoration’. Stages will be hosted at Number’s, Avant Garden, La Strada, Mango’s Cantina, and the soon to be opened Austin Layne Hotel (408 Westheimer). Ultimately, all attendees will shortly thereafter divide their lives into two distinct epochs: Pre-Oct.11th Block Party and Post-October 11th Block Party. Don’t miss this paradigm shifting event.
