I didn't mind at all what they did with the songs. To me, if I wanna listen to the song as it sounds on the album, I'll listen to the album. Good for them that they didn't just reel off the same old I say. I really liked the new take on Mr Jones, and Miami in particular was fab as well.

Actually I never thought of the extra wait so maybe they should have played a more recognisable set

i agree with stezstix. okay guys, different versions of your songs help to keep your live show interesting, but to replace all your hits, all your best tracks, with lightweight, off-tempo skat-singing imitations was just a bit selfish. we'd already waited an extra six months to see them, as payback they deny us a singalong and give us a version of Mr Jones that barely anyone recognised. everyone around me was looking at each other going 'what the hell is this' when they were playing it... it definitely got better towards the end, it seemed to be ramping up to a big, rock-out encore ... only for him to come back out with another story, into one of the slower songs off the slowest half of their new album. yay. despite all this I did enjoy the gig, it had a nice, laidback Monday night feel, the music was tight and the sound quality was spot-on. If the last time I saw them hadn't been SO amazing, I probably wouldn't have had such high expectations

Not a big fan then I presume. I have never been to a CC gig before but knew all of the acoustic variations of the songs because I own a number of live cds. I thought they were very entertaining. Not one of the best gigs I have been to but enjoyable all the same. So im sorry but I could not disagree with you more strongly. To comment on his ego is indeed very short sighted as you do not know the man

Erm, were we at the same concert? I've got to be honest, Counting Crows were poor. In fact, they were poorer than poor. I'm so upset that some of my favourite songs were ruined by a lead singer who's ego weighs more than his hair. Ok, you might say I'm being a bit short-sighted, but not a single song was recognisable until you picked up the lyrics - and then the "OMG, he's ruining Omaha" thought kicks in. Can I have my £40 back please? And the 2 hours of my life?
