Romanian Salsa Festival has the great pleasure to invite you to a special salsa live concert performed by Los Caiman, a salsa band coming for the first time in Romania directly from Cuba. Here is how they describe themselves:
For Caiman, our music is all about joy, being together and celebrating life. A bottle of rum, something nice to eat and having fun together are just as important as playing music. And making music without being friends is impossible! Therefore, Caiman is one of the few bands that has been playing together for years with the same people.
We play our music in the traditional Cuban Son style. This style has the characteristic instrumentation of trumpet, bongos, acoustic bass, guitar, the Cuban tres and vocals. We started out playing Cuban classics like Chan Chan and Son de la Loma, like almost any band that plays traditional Cuban music. Through the years, we started creating our own songs, and adding our own modern flavor to the Son, without ever breaking the links with the tradition. The resulting music is a very danceable salsa version of the traditional Son.
Our music takes shape as we go along. During rehearsals, in the studio and on stage every member of Caiman adds a small flavor, beat or note. This means that all arrangements are the culmination of years of playing together. And that is why we are who we are, We are Caiman.
