I believe this was the first concert of this type held in the Sanford and Sons' venue, and what an odd place it was - rock amongst the antiques. As far as I could tell, nothing broke, except perhaps an eardrum or two.
Despite it being a very hot day and as sweaty as hell in the place, and the sound tech down with food poisoning, everybody brought their A game.
Triumph Of Lethargy Skinned Alive To Death opened the show in a brief but raucous fashion. They hit hard and fast in their opening set, although many of the crowd had no idea who they were. (More's the pity.) Destruction Island was up next, with a loud but more rhythmic set. It was their CD release party, but they almost seemed subdued compared to the next two acts.
I've saved the best for last. I'd never heard of 31Knots before, but their set was one of the most wonderfully bizarre things I've seen in a while. …
