T he festival will take place across Utrechts three major venues: Tivoli, Tivoli de Helling and EKKO. Also expect some dance nights in ACU and special, intimate and acoustic concerts at one or more of the citys most beautiful churches.
Even a quick glance at this years line-up, plus the ones from previous years, will show Summer Darkness brings together a varied array of bands and genres todays underground has to offer. Gothrock, retro-wave, gothic-metal, avant-garde darkambient, hellectro, medieval, neo-folk, EBM, darkwave, synthpop, industrialrock, futurepop, neo-classical or noise; take your pick, its all there at Summer Darkness.
Although the main focus of the festival lies with the musical side of the undergound lifestyle, Summer Darkness also features various other special events. Expect the gothic picnic, citywalks, the gothic market, gothic fashion shows and much more!

I am so sorry I missed out on going to the Summer Darkness. Welle Erdball, De/Vision, Mesh, Das Ich, Apoptygma Berzerk, Hocico... All on the same festival, only Front 242 and Nitzer Ebb was missing. So, tell me, in English. Was it good? Rub it in, I can take it. I had 9 hours drive to go, and no friends that wanted to tag along, otherwise I would've been there for sure!
