Two time Grammy Award winner, American thrash metal band Slayer will headline the Vladivar Rock ’N India festival in Bengaluru.
Slayer's debut performance in India will not feature founding member and rhythm/lead guitarist Jeff Hanneman, who is yet to recover from Necrotizing fasciitis (a flesh-eating disease) that he contracted from a spider bite in 2011. Gary Holt of Exodus fame, who has been the band’s touring lead guitarist while Hanneman has been away, will substitute for him at this gig.
India's metalheads can look forward to a special treat at this gig. Tom Araya has said that they are putting together a list from the Slayer catalogue to bring old and new hits to the Indian fans.
Mumbai-based heavy metal band, Brahma, will open the show for Slayer.
