Victoria Star, Dock 9, Central Pier, Victoria Harbour, Docklands
Melbourne, 3000, Australia
Headlining the voyage are the ethereal confections of Puro Instinct, a dream-pop six-piece fronted by the precocious swagger of the Kaplan sisters, Piper and Skylar. Laying down a hypnotic blend of chorusdrenched guitars and laid-back tempos, shimmering synth melodies and washed out harmonies, Puro Instinct bring us a touch of the sun-soaked California breeze.
Joining the nautical line-up are local heroes NO ZU, a band whose live sets have become a thing of legend, combining an intoxicating mix of delayed trumpets, heavy percussion, abrasive guitars, minimalist vocals and chanted Australiana to create an art-rock throwdown meets all-in dance-off.
Buoying the party in between sets is DJ LA POCOCK, aka Luke Pocock of Triple R’s Set It Out radio show, rocking the boat with infectious, seaworthy tunes. This sonic wonderland is complemented by an outlandish visual feast, with the ship bedecked with artwork courtesy of Melbourne design guru Leif Podhajsky, along with other local artistic luminaries.
Part sunset cruise, part sonic adventure, all jamming boat party, Bermuda Float is just waiting for you to come aboard.
