Indie legend Dean Wareham fronted two seminal bands, late 80s space rockers Galaxie 500 and later the sharper, more uptempo Luna. Now, together with music and life partner Britta Phillips, the duo creates breezy, lush pop songs with a dose of whimsy.
A highly touted Montreal-based electronic duo, Purity Ring – twentysomethings Corin Roddick and Megan Roddick – combine dreamy vocals, plonky blips and blips with a dark undercurrent of tribal rhythm for a sound
that has them tabbed by many as one of the best bands of 2012.
