Description
One of the most divinely inspired cross-generational collaborations of 2012 takes to the stage, for a night on which Rastafarian dreamstate meets forward-thinking bass weight.
Early last year, wayfaring LA-based psych musicians Sun Araw and M. Geddes Gengras travelled to St Catherine, Jamaica to make music with legendary dub-reggae vocal group The Congos (best known for their classic Lee Perry-produced seventies album 'The Heart Of The Congos'). The resulting wonder of an album, Icon Give Thank (released in April as part of RVNG’s ‘FRKWYS’ series) finds the pair's melodically experimental productions ornamented with The Congos' soulful vocal leads and four-part harmonies.
Now the two sets of musicians gather on stage to recapture their unique, 21st century dub alchemy.
