Description

Make way for a line up fit for Sydneys first Cup Week. Reclink Community Cup week, that is.

On Thursday 15th March The Cruel Sea, Dan Sultan (SOLO) and The Ronson Hangup will fly the flag for the Western Walers high and line up for Rock For Reclink.

This event is part of the celebration of the 1st annual Sydney Community Cup, which will be held the following Sunday 18th March at Henson Park Marrickville.

The artists have donated their time to perform at Rock For Reclink in support of Reclink Australia, and its mission to provide sporting, social and arts activities to enhance the lives of people experiencing disadvantage in Australia.

People who have seen The Cruel Sea know that as live performers they're one of the country's finest. ARIA award winning and chart topping albums including The Honeymoon Is Over that ranked 57th in the Triple Hottest 100 Australian Albums of All Time. All five members were ensconced in the extraordinary Australian underground scene of the 1980s and they are one of the few to bands to find success without losing the integrity of their craft. Tex, Jim, Dan, Kenny and James have all pursued other projects and The Cruel Sea has remained to this day elusive and somewhat mysterious.

Dan Sultan is one of Australias most talented showmen and will be performing an acoustic set for this Rock For Reclink event. Dan is Skipper of Sydneys first Reclink Community Cup muso team - the Western Walers and is an ongoing supporter of the Melbourne Community Cup as 2011 Captain of the Espy Rockdogs.

Melbournes The Ronson Hangup evolved when members of Melbourne bands - Even, The Anyones, The Pictures and Canon came together over a mutual admiration for Mick Ronson, the legendary guitarist from David Bowies' Spiders From Mars.

Reclink Australia is honoured to have these artists take the stage - and in some cases back up taking the field - to celebrate Sydneys inaugural Reclink Community Cup.
