BENJAMIN FRANCIS LEFTWICH

‘Singer-songwriter’ is not a term embraced by many musicians. Too often the phrase is used to denote generic clichés, excessive emotional angst or middle-of-the-road blandness. But 21-year-old Benjamin Francis Leftwich feels it’s far from insulting; ‘My songs are personal and acoustic guitar based so why not? I am a singer-song-writer.’ With influences including Elliot Smith, The Beatles, Kate Bush & Ryan Adams amongst others. Last year saw the release of his critically acclaimed top forty debut album ‘Last Smoke Before The Snowstorm’.

"a majestic debut" - 4/5 The Fly

"a serious new talent" -The Sunday Times

MARIKA HACKMAN

Currently based in Brighton, Marika Hackman’s folky(ish) songs have been attracting a lot of interest recently. While still only 19, her ability as a song-writer far exceeds her tender age.

The double a-side single ‘You Come Down/Mountain Spines’ is due out August via Transgressive Records

JOE JANIAK

Playing the guitar from such a tender age leaves song-writer Joe Janiak with very few memories of life without it. Music has been his life and therefore his sound and songs have been shaped by everything life throws in his path; a wondering troubadour who’s compass is set by the music, and the journeys are told in songs. Stunning vocals mixed with intelligent musicianship, ensure this artist is definitely one to watch for the future and beyond.
