A Night of Intense Enjoyment was started in July 2006. We wanted to create a workers playtime for bands to enjoy each others work and to support each others efforts and that would be cheap enough for the impoverished to be able to take a chance on bands they’d never heard before. It was successful enough to turn into a monthly residency that has lasted over two years.

NOIE Calibrate Now! Album Launch party- deadbeat descendant + Thee Orphans + Jonny Cola & The A Grades

The first NOIE of 2012 is set to be a corker as Deadbeat Descendant launch their long awaited debut Album Calibrate Now! They will be joined by two great bands, Stereo Stephen on the platters and special guest star album artist Jonas Ranson providing the visuals

Deadbeat Descendant
Deadbeat Descendant will need little introduction to anyone following the underground scene, winning plaudits for their all action live performances and sardonic witty and irreverent songs. Think stomping psych-punk, belligerent meanderings and agitprop tales of cold war mysteries, midweek rebellion, mythical bands and nocturnal adventures.

Musically, this punk ‘n roll outfit continue in the best ‘garage’ traditions (think Iggy Pop with the revolutionary verve of MC5) but add their own eclectic flavours ranging from Roxyesque glam, Kraut Rock metronomy and Beefheart blues twang, all underpinned with the theatricality of art-punk cabaret.

The band are breaking out the black juice to celebrate the launch of debut album ‘Calibrate Now! Available in all god forsaken record shops…

Thee Orphans

Thee Orphans, rise proudly from the scattered ashes of a fractured urn, featuring two true lost souls of rock ‘n’ roll, former members of arse-waving, hairspray explosion-in-a-teacup rockers These Animal Men. Thee Orphans, with one part Cooper Clarke, three parts MC5, and two parts The Who at their meaty, beaty, bouncy best, teeter on the brink of the rock opera abyss. “Musically, they fuse Townsend windmills and power chords, with Mott the Hoople and Only Ones street glam, lyrically they reveled in inherent cool……
Boag and Hooligan (now reborn Jonny Orphan) return, united in rock and roll and a rolling stomping cave man groove. Two new cohorts were recruited and these dashing blades, stride proudly forward unleashing a power that will grace your soul and steal your heart.

They will also be Launching their fabulous new album “Average Kinda Savage” which will be available for sale on the night.

Jonny Cola & The A-Grades
Jonny Cola & The A-Grades are a London outfit determined to make a drama out of a crisis. They intend to do this by means of starry-eyed, quiet/loud, happy/sad, metropolitan/suburban, glamorously intense pop music.

“Brash and confident, stylish and thoroughly entertaining… This is the kind of band the indie scene has been crying out for.” (Incendiary Magazine)
