YORK FIBBERS PRESENTS BOB LOG III
You’ll believe a man in a full body human cannonball suit can fly.
One-man band and legend Bob Log III is more than a scotch and a helmet and a jigger of blues. Even without a drummer, the helmet or the swizzle stick, this man would still be entertainment itself.
Picking up a guitar at eleven years old and smitten with Delta blues not long after, an early foray in to busking with a snare drum and guitar (bolted together!) resulted in selling 20,000 copies rather than the expected 50.
He’s a pretty decent slide guitarist as well, having toured, and performed with, The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion and RL Burnside. Chuck in the skanky noise of Pussy Galore’s Corpse Love and the addled scuzz of Royal Trux’s Twin Infinitives, but this ain’t just adolescent smirk stuff.
He’s primal, sexual, damn funny, impromptu, an enigma and just so good live. He may even redefine your views on what to expect at a gig.
“I grew up listening to Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley and AC/DC,” he says, “That’s what rock’n’roll is to me. You take a guitar, turn it up and have a good time. That’s where I’m from. Everyone else can go listen to Pearl Jam if they want to.” Bob Log III
