For sweetened undercurrents and a vocal as naive as Feist with the depth of Dark Dark Dark. For a real composer, leaving room (so much perfect r oom!) and warming up and decorating his sparse chords with his syrup vocal. Delicate but not too polite, Daniel Pattison is more like the more artistic moments of Imogen Heap. For unexpected, lilting, softly jazz-inspired love songs to comb the beach to. Meg Cavanaugh channels the deep voice of Erykah Badu glueing together her free piano-led letters. And the cracked antique, down and out Tom Waits-likened, swelling sounds of being drunk and broken up but wise and full of grace in your best shoes and vest. Phillious Williams churns up the blues and tango into a catchy serenade…
