We are very excited to bring BLACK BREATH back to Manchester. After their sensationally rowdy show at Star and Garter last year there is no doubt that this show is going to seriously erupt at Islington Mill!
GET IN THE FUCKING PIT!!!

Black Breath

Seattle’s Black Breath have trail-blazed onto the independent metal scene since the release of their debut LP ‘Heavy Breathing’ on Southern Lord. An undeniably infectious mix of cold Swedish Death, riotous hardcore and d-beat worship, there are no delayed guitar parts, long, plodding song structures or pseudo ‘avant-garde’ posing in their music. BB are simply out to reclaim everything that was claw raisingly great about heavy music, before it was polluted in the noughties by leagues of prats and their ‘post-whatever’ wankery. ‘Heavy Breathing’ is a skull crushing album of banger after banger, and their follow-up out this promises to be the same. Anyone’s that has seen them live will know the cuts ‘Heavy Breathing’ are even more brutal in the flesh, played through full vintage Marshall stacks. Anyone who hasn’t……believe me, they are un-fuck-withable. Black Breath are out for your blood and your neck and I’ll be submitting mine willingly in the pit. You’d best do the fucking same.

Victims

This line-up is made all the more satisfying knowing Swedish Crust legends Victims will be main support. Their country is known for this particular strain of hardcore, producing originators like Anti-Cimex and mainstays such as Wolfbrigade and Disfear. Even in with heavy-weights such as these, Victims have still managed to become one of the most respected and touted bands within this scene. Fans of their classic split with Portland’s From Ashes Rise can surely attest to this. With a new album released on Jacob Bannon’s Deathwish last year, Victims seem set to cement their feet firmly in the pantheon of classic Swedish ferocity.

Gotta mention the first band, Pine Barrons, since they haven't been mentioned in the event name or description. The whole thing was brilliant, been a long time since I've seen the whole band line-up at a concert be really ridiculously good. Look forward to seeing any of these bands again.
